We Are Woven Roots: A Series for Creative Ways of Cultivating Connection
Journey into the heart of Tulsi (aka Holy Basil), an herb considered sacred within many cultures and traditions. Tulsi has an intoxicating aroma and offers many powerful healing properties. Tulsi’s medicine includes opening and balancing the heart, head and stomach, making them a mighty ally for moving through daily life.
In this transformational workshop, we’ll explore the healing potential of deepening connection with both our inner selves and the natural world, guided by Tulsi's gentle wisdom and expansive support. This workshop includes: a reflective ritual inspired by shamanic tradition; instruction for a simple, at-home technique to craft your own Tulsi hydrosol, an aromatic mist that captures Tulsi’s essence and healing properties; and making of a hydrosol we will prepare as a group. You'll leave with your own handcrafted hydrosol, a tangible reminder of the profound connection forged in this sacred space that you can bring into your daily living.

Meet your facilitator, Kelbi McCumber-Morris!

This workshop will focus on herbal energetics, as well as your personal physical, mental, and spiritual energetics. We will sample a variety of herbal medicines to better understand energetics, and why they are important. Experimenting with various herbs in this way can also ground us into the dimensions and uses of energetics. We will also make herbal tonic remedies for you to take home to continue playing with energetics on your own.
The plants and trees that we work with will be local so that each of us has the opportunity to be more fully empowered to connect with the medicine and energies of the plants that share our environment. While we will discuss alcohol as a possible solvent for making tonics, this will be an alcohol-free space and alternative solvents will be used. We will also discuss methods of harvesting, storing, and preserving herbal products with energetics in mind.
