Community

We are on a mission to foster strength through connection--to self, to others, to the Earth--to support health and healing for all.

Through our workshops and community events, we aim to make the wisdom and lifestyle of connecting with nature practical and accessible, and to offer a hub for shared experiences and cultivation of vibrant relationships, including with the natural world.

Through collaborations and participation in the larger Atlanta community, we hope to weave a rich, multifaceted community that embodies what is possible when we come together.

The nervous system is a hot topic these days, but many of the pop-psychology perspectives may actually limit rather than empower our understanding of the inner workings of our own brain-bodies that support surviving and thriving in a complex world. Misconceptions about regulation and dysregulation lead to strategies that are more like taming our inner animal rather than tending, understanding, and honoring it.

Let's consider another perspective.

In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to:

-Learn the fundamental states of the nervous system

-Explore movement and mindfulness practices as a way to practice tuning into and being with various body states on purpose

-Challenge the usual ideas of regulation and dysregulation to support greater self-understanding, acceptance, and connection

-And tend and befriend your own unique nervous system profile to build emotional fortitude and resilience, or strength and flexibility, and expand your authentic expression.

This workshop is for anyone who has ever been curious to learn more about the nervous system, including ways to understand your own nervous system and how to apply that understanding to foster healing and well-being.

We're kicking off our seasonal community practice this fall! Near the turn of each season, we will gather at Arabia Mountain for a Rewilding Walk.

This community practice will include:

-an embodied practice of connecting with nature through deep listening and resonance

-foraging and making tea with foraged plants on site

-and cultivating relationships and community

Returning to the same place throughout the year creates the opportunity to build a relationship with the land as we witness and attune to the changes across the seasons.

Join us for our first Rewilding Walk on Sunday, September 28th, from 9-11 am. We will meet at the trail head near AWARE Wildlife Center.

This community practice will be facilitated by Elizabeth & Kwang Mae and offered by donation. Please RSVP by emailing wovenrootscollectiveatl@gmail.com.

Join us for some crating and community!

We will make Rewilding weaves, a symbol of your process of weaving a relationship with nature, made with things found in nature, and inspired by the Native American dream catcher.

When: Saturday, October 4th, from 4-6

Where: The park at Pine Lake (outside of the Pine Lake Beach House, weather permitting)

Materials for crafting and tea will be provided, so please let us know you are attending by emailing wovenrootscollectiveatl@gmail.com.

Feel free to bring your own crafting materials, and maybe a picnic, a blanket, or even your favorite game, and just come be in community!
